Research of Cell and Development Biology

Our research includes studies on; root and shoot architecture, tissue regeneration, and embryo development. We include in these studies the dynamics of cellular organization in relation to cell growth, cell communication, cell division and the organization of cell walls.
Research themes
Our research is divided between research groups, each with their own expertise and group leader. Currently, we have seven research groups:
- Keijzer group - Intercellular communication
- Ketelaar group - Cellular polarity and dynamics
- Willemsen Group - Plant architecture in relation to the environment
- Heidstra Group - Stem cell specification and regeneration
- Kohlen Group – Hormonal regulation of mitotic re-activation of plant cells
- Grones Group - Plasma Membrane Structure ©Hotpot
- Horstman group – Root system architecture
