Education of Plant Breeding

Plant Breeding offers education by teaching courses at the bachelor and master level of different study programs. In addition, they provide BSc- and MSc theses, research practices and internships.
Thesis
Thesis research implies that students participate in ongoing research projects. Some research depends on the growing season or the availability of segregating populations. Therefore, make your interest known months beforehand, so that your supervisor can take your contribution into account.
Feel free to contact any supervisor to discuss your ideas. They can offer you more insight into the various research questions, required prior knowledge, research methods, time schedule, etc. If you experience difficulty, cannot find what you are looking for, or want a more general overview of ongoing research projects at PBR.
Internship & Research practice
Internships students within PBR can do two types of internships: 1) A research internship, and 2) A professional internship. The internships both use the code PBR70424. The research internship is an internship centered around a single research project with clear research questions, completed with a research report. A professional internship is an internship in which the internship student contributes to different projects or to a single, larger project. A professional internship is completed with a set of deliverables and a context report, but also includes a scientific, academic presentation and discussion of the results.
