Agricultural Biosystems Engineering

Robot arms in greenhouse

At the Agricultural Biosystems Engineering group of Peter Groot Koerkamp, we use and develop state-of-the-art technology to improve agricultural biosystems and make them more sustainable. We study how plants, animals, soil, technology and people interact, and how we can design smarter systems for the future.

Research

Our commitment is rooted in understanding the complexity of agricultural biosystems to leverage system specific technological concepts and the underlying scientific and engineering principles to not only design and optimize an agricultural biosystem but also to manage its impact on society and ecosystems.
