Study expenses bachelor's

The statutory tuition fee that applies to EU/EFTA students is determined by the Dutch government and applies to students who meet the nationality and the degree requirement.

The institutional tuition fee for non-European students is set by the Executive Board of Wageningen University. The definite amount of tuition fees of 2027-2028 will be determined in the end of 2026.

This amount, determined annually by the IND, is required for the daily expenses, housing, food, books, study-materials, clothing, computer materials etc. If the University applies for the student’s residence permit (non-EU/EFTA students), the University has to prove to the IND that the student has sufficient financial means. Therefore these students are required to transfer twelve months living allowance in advance to the university as a deposit. Once the student has opened a Dutch bank account the total amount will be transferred to this account.

In the Netherlands everybody is obliged to be insured. To fulfil this obligationfor non-EU/EFTA students insurance is invoiced as well. The university will take out this insurance, so the student will be well insured during the study period at our university.

Non-European students are obliged to have a Dutch residence permit. As Wageningen University applies for your residence permit based on Study payment of the dues is required. Only after receipt of the total costs of the invoice, the university will start the visa and legal residence application.
