GIANTS project- A European Initiative

We’re excited to share that the Business Management & Organisation (BMO) group at Wageningen University has officially started its work as anacademic parner in the GIANTS project, a European initiative supporting the shift toward sustainable and circular solutions in the agri-food sector, launched at the beginning of July 2025.

Within the project, BMO leads efforts to develop collaborative sustainable and circular business models, drawing on its research strengths in strategic management, business model innovation, sustainability transitions, and organisational transformations. These models aim to be scalable and adaptable, offering tailored solutions to support primary producers and bio-based industries across diverse European contexts.

🔬 The BMO team includes: • Dr. Giustina Pellegrini – Assistant Professor, specialising in sustainable innovation and transitions in agri-food systems • Dr. Emiel F.M. Wubben – Associate Professor of Strategic Management, focused on biobased and circular business • Dr. Alireza Alerasoul – Senior Postdoctoral Researcher, specialising in strategy, sustainable business model innovation, and organisational transformations

Together with 17 partners from 8 countries—including FOOD+I, CIRCE, and FLANDERS' FOOD—the BMO team contributes to the co-creation of resilient, future-proof food systems aligned with the broader goals of the circular bioeconomy. GIANTS is funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking.

📢 Stay tuned as we share insights and results from this exciting collaboration!
