Biography
I am a soil ecologist with a focus on soil health and the intricate connections between soil life and soil functions. My research investigates how soils contribute to healthy ecosystems and societal well-being. To address applied questions about soil health, its drivers, and its importance to society, I combine experimental work and observational studies with advanced statistical and machine-learning approaches.
In my past and current projects, I have explored how microbial and soil fauna communities, and their functions, are influenced by different management practices in agricultural systems and forests across the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Europe.
