Biography
Bart is a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Geo-Information Science & Remote Sensing. His research focuses on the use of multi-sensor satellite imagery and artificial intelligence to advance the detection and characterization of tropical forest changes. In addition to developing new methods, he works on their operational deployment in large-scale forest monitoring systems used in practice. His main contributions include the automated attribution of direct drivers to deforestation alerts and a novel monitoring system to track forest road development.
His research interests include:
