Biography
Michiel de Haas is an economic historian of modern Africa. His work focuses on migration, inequality agricultural development, food security and primary commodity trade, with a regional emphasis on central-east Africa, Uganda in particular. He holds a bachelor's master’s degree from Utrecht University, and a PhD from Wageningen University (allcum laude). Currently he is an assistant professor at Wageningen University.
