Biography

Biography

Tamara Hoppenbrouwers is an Assistant Professor in "Immunomodulation by Food in Infants" at Wageningen University & Research. The goal of her research(team) is to investigate the role of food(compounds) on intestine-immune development and health effects, such as allergy development, using in vitro models. 

Tamara obtained her PhD-degree at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, with her thesis entitled “Trapped in the Matrix: Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) and Fibrin in Wound Healing”. In 2018, she started working as a Postdoc at Wageningen University & Research on the topic “Sustainable production of health-promoting n-3 LCPUFA using agro food industry by-products through microalgae-oil (SUSPUFA)”. Starting July 2020, she entered a Tenure Track position at WUR between the departments of Food Quality and Design and Wageningen Food & Biobased Research.
