Biography

Biography

Bart van den Borne was born and raised on a dairy farm in the south of the Netherlands. He graduated as an animal scientist from Wageningen University in 2004. His PhD, at Utrecht University (NL), focused on the epidemiology of bovine mastitis, a topic he continued researching at the University of Bern (Switzerland) for 6 years. Upon his return to the Netherlands, Bart worked at a number of research institutes after which he started a postdoc position in the Business Economics Group in 2018. Since 2020, he works as a researcher/lecturer and divides his time working on the epidemiology and economics of infectious diseases at the Business Economics Group and the Infectious Disease Epidemiology Group.
