Biography

Biography

My research interests include African philosophy, agriculture, food system transformation, international development, social justice, epistemic justice, indigenous knowledge, and transformation processes. I aim to engage in transformative intercultural dialogues with colleagues across the globe, specifically African colleagues, on food system transformation.

With my interdisciplinary background, I aim for substantial integration of social sciences, philosophy and natural sciences. I have an interdisciplinary PhD in Rural Sociology and Animal Science from Wageningen University, and worked as post-doctoral researcher at the International Livestock Research Institute, for which I lived two years in Mozambique.

Currently, I teach courses such as African philosophy and Social Justice Technology and Development. My teaching style can be described a creative, dialogical, and transformative. My experience as illustrator is reflected in my drawings and mind-maps for lectures as well as research publications.
