Biography

Danny Tagle-Freire is a junior lecturer at Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) in Ecuador and a employed Ph.D. student at Wageningen University & Research (WUR) in The Netherlands. He graduated as a Food Engineer from ESPOL in 2013 and after having a brief experience in the local food industry he got an scholarship from SENESCYT (Ecuadorian ministry of higher education, science, technology and innovation) to carry out his master´s studies. In 2017, he got his master´s degree in Food Technology with a specialization in Sustainable Food Process Engineering from WUR and during his research internship he worked as a visiting scholar at UCDAVIS in California, USA. His research interest areas includes sustainable food processing, food digestion and plant-based proteins. In his Ph.D. project, he aims to demonstrate the metabolic and sensory impact of ingredients and food produced by mild processing.
