Biography

Biography

Jiawei is a sandwich PhD student from China, currently pursuing his doctoral degree in Food Quality and Design (FQD). He began his academic journey at Northwest A&F University, where he earned his BSc degree in Horticulture, with a keen interest in tea science. Jiawei's passion for learning led him to pursue a Master's degree in Agriculture at the Tea Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences(TRI-CAAS), Hangzhou, China, under the guidance of Prof. Zongmao Chen and Prof. Li Zhou. For his MSc thesis, Jiawei conducted research on the input and formation mechanisms of 9,10-anthraquinone in tea processing under different fuels.

In 2023, Jiawei embarked on a new research journey for his PhD project, focusing on the mechanism and safety control of thermo-induced endogenous contaminants in tea production. His research is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Pieternel Luning (FQD) and Prof. Zongmao Chen (TRI) and Prof. Li Zhou (TRI).
