Biography
I am a PhD candidate at the Soil, Geography, and Landscape (SGL) group. My main research interests are: (1) the long-term interaction between humans and their surrounding landscapes; (2) the effects of human activities on the formation process of anthropogenic soils. I have been conducting research on such issues in West Africa, South Korea, and mainly the Brazilian Amazon. Now, I am working on the EARTHWORK project to develop new luminescence dating methods to better date the earthworks in the Netherlands and to investigate the formation process of the Dutch cultural landscape.
