KJ (Karin) Borgonjen-van den Berg

After she gained her bachelor degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at HAN University of Applied Sciences in 2001, Karin started to work as a research dietican at the division of Human Nutrition and Health at WUR.

As a research dietician, she is involved in dietary assessment studies. During the past years, within the division several tools to assess dietary intake were developed i.e. FFQtool, Compleat, Eetscore, Traqq.

Today, Karin her work mainly focusses on dietary assessment in low- and middle- income counties. She has experience in preparing, executing and processing quantitative 24-hour recalls in different countries in Africa and Asia. Compiling food composition tables for the studies concerned is part of her work as well.
