M (Muhammad) Firdaus, MSc
Biography
Muhammad Firdaus is a PhD candidate at the Aquaculture and Fisheries Group (AFI), Wageningen University & Research (WUR). He completed his undergraduate degree in Aquaculture Technology and Management at IPB University (2012), followed by a Master’s degree in Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management at WUR (2022), graduating cum laude in both programs.
Since 2014, he has been working as a researcher at the Research and Development Division for Marine Bio-Industry, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), which was reorganized in 2022 as the Research Center for Marine and Land Bioindustry under the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). His research experience includes close collaboration with aquaculture stakeholders across Indonesia to improve the farming practices of various marine species such as sea cucumbers, lobsters, bivalves, finfish, and seaweed.
His PhD research focuses on the dietary phosphorus requirements of yellowtail kingfish, part of a joint research project supported by WUR and the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP).
