About this expertise

In short
  • Reuse water to create circular value
  • Lower energy costs
  • Mild operation conditions
  • Tailored membrane technologies
Introduction

Industries working with water-rich streams face costly, energy-intensive concentration processes that risk degrading product quality. We develop mild, efficient dewatering solutions and technologies that preserve value, reduce waste, and deliver high quality water-fit-for-use.

About the expertise

Dewatering is a critical step in many food and biobased processes, from fruit and vegetable concentrates to fermentation media and digestates. Traditional methods often consume large amounts of (thermal) energy and risk degrading sensitive compounds, aromas, or textures. We offer a wide portfolio of membrane-based concentration technologies that achieve high separation performance while maintaining product quality. Beyond individual technologies, we develop integrated solutions that combine separation steps into scalable, circular process concepts for industrial practice.

Depending on feedstock composition, water content, and desired outcome, we select and design tailored solutions using pressure, concentration, thermal, or electricity-driven membrane processes. We often use hybrid or cascaded systems to optimize efficiency and achieve both product concentration and high-quality water recovery.

With facilities ranging from lab-scale to pilot and demo applications on location, we support clients in developing scalable, energy-saving, and circular concentration strategies that meet both industrial performance and sustainability goals.
