Wageningen Food Safety Research (WFSR) has developed stable manuals in collaboration with Bionext, Groen Kennisnet and the Ministry of LVVN. These manuals provide guidance for livestock farmers on how to promote animal health and prevent disease using natural means.
WFSR uses the stable manuals to disseminate knowledge about natural products in livestock farming. Products that support health can contribute to improving animal health, as a supplement to good management and high-quality animal feed. In addition, the use of veterinary medicines can be reduced.
The products mentioned in the stable booklets are not medicines unless they are registered as such. However, they can be used to reduce the severity of diseases, reduce emissions and help animals cope better with heat stress and other stressors.
