People of Systems and Synthetic Biology

Chairholder
Maria Suarez Diez is the chair of Systems and Synthetic Biology. She develops mathematical models to help understand the dynamics of cellular networks. Her ultimate goal is to build a model that explains how communities of cells interact with each other and their surroundings; how they grow, adapt, and change.
She also has a clear vision for the work environment: “I want to create an environment where we all work together to achieve our goals, provide the best possible education and become the best versions of ourselves.”
