Education of Knowledge, Technology and Innovation

Within the KTI group, our aim is to provide high quality social science education to both social and natural science students. KTI focuses on proposing socially inclusive and sustainable development pathways for wide range of stakeholders, such as local communities, governments, industry and civil society. Besides the programmes we teach in, we also offer possibilities to do a bachelor, master thesis or internship.
KTI aims to create an inspiring educational environment, which enables a diversity of students to become culturally sensitive, reflexive and responsible change makers. In KTI courses, students learn to critically question historically developed hierarchies, structures, dominant narratives and practices associated with science and technology in society. Through interactive and transdisciplinary methods, we equip students to cultivate their own agency to enact socio-technical transformation in engagement with practitioners from various fields, including historically marginalized voices. In doing so, we nurture critical and reflexive students whose curiosity and care can confront the serious challenges of the world.
Theses and internships
KTI offers ample opportunities for theses and internships. If you are looking for a topic, please self-enroll on our Brighspace page. There you can find thesis and internship vacancies. Moreover, you can find all relevant information to plan, execute and complete your thesis and/or internship. Take a look a the CIKOD student research magazine for some examples of theses and internships.
Thesis market
Twice a year, KTI organises a thesis market. On this market, you can check out our topics, meet our colleagues, and find out for yourself if you want to do your thesis at our chair group. Our thesis markets are organised in November and March. Please follow us on socials, where we will advert the thesis markets in advance.
