Education of Public Administration and Policy

The Public Administration and Policy group (PAP) offers a wide range of courses thesis topics and internship opportunities. On this page you will find the information you need for your MSc thesis, internships, research practice and BSc thesis.
Thesis
BSc thesis
The aim of the BSc thesis is to be able to apply and synthesise knowledge acquired during their education to a demarcated topic. In general a BSc thesis usually consists of formulating a research question, systematically apply research methods, conduct a review of literature on a specific topic and/or applying an existing framework to a case study and writing-up the findings in an accessible and concise report. The student is expected to work individually and should be able to present and defend their findings. PAP is involved in several BSc programs. Contact the BSc coordinator for more information.

Internship & Research practice
The aim of the internship, in general, is to work in and for an organization where you can use and develop your analytical tools and skills and to experience challenges and everyday practices of researchers, consultants and civil servants. We have collaborative relationships with various public and private organizations that regularly offer internship possibilities for PAP students.
If you are interested in doing an internship with one of these organizations, you can approach Dr Siera Vercillo (MME) or Dr Otto Hospes (MID). Please regularly check our website for new internship possibilities.
Going abroad: If you are planning to go abroad for thesis/internship related activities, make sure to check out the WUR travel policy and the preparation page (you can also find the forms for travelling there). How to register your travels in Osiris you can find here. Note that for some countries you will have to ask for approval first.
