Take this course if you can already understand simple words, sentences, and short texts in Spanish. You can also take this course if you have completed our course Spanish 2. After the course Spanish 3, you can continue on to Spanish 4.

Who is this course suitable for?

Target group

Spanish 3 is for anyone who has taken three or four years of Spanish at the HAVO or VWO level and wants to improve their language skills, or anyone who has completed our Spanish 2 course.

Did you take Spanish at HAVO or VWO level or gain knowledge of Spanish in another way? Then you may be eligible for Spanish 3. A free intake is required. This is a short phone call with the teacher to determine your level. Please email your phone number to into@wur.nl.

What will you learn?

From on the way to A2 to A2

This course helps you reach language level A2. After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • have simple, short conversations on personal topics;
  • follow basic everyday conversations on familiar topics;
  • understand basic concepts of short, simple texts (brochures, advertisements);
  • write short, simple messages or emails.

After completing this course, you can continue learning Spanish with our Spanish 4 course (level: on the way to B1). Learn more about the language levels (CEFR).

Approach
The emphasis is on oral communication, but reading, listening, and writing skills are also covered. Spanish is spoken as much as possible in class, with English as the supporting language. You'll also learn more about Spanish culture.

What will the course cover?

You'll learn to talk about past experiences, future plans, your opinions, how you feel, and hypothetical situations, among other things. Grammarly, you'll cover expressing habits with the verb soler, various forms and applications of the gerund, and irregular forms of the present perfect and pretérito indefinido.
