About this service

The Supermarket Sustainability Dashboard provides a clear overview of the key objectives, efforts and results of supermarkets in the fields of environment and food.

Environmental efforts and performance of Dutch supermarkets

The Supermarket Sustainability Dashboard presents the environmental efforts and performance of Dutch supermarket chains on themes such as biodiversity, protein transition, resource use and the circular economy, ecolabelling and climate. The focus is on the sustainability of the products sold. For now, the emphasis is mainly on environmental topics, but expansion to other themes is possible.

The dashboard includes data from Albert Heijn, ALDI, Ekoplaza, Jumbo, Lidl, Picnic, PLUS, Boon, Dekamarkt, Dirk, Hoogvliet, Nettorama, Odin, SPAR and Vomar. Data for Poiesz is currently being prepared.

The dashboard gives supermarkets insight into their performance on aspects such as ecolabels, CO₂ reduction, and product range, and allows them to compare themselves with other supermarkets. Policymakers, supply chain actors, researchers, and journalists can also use the dashboard to track sustainability trends and compare the performance of different supermarkets.
